If you've ever opened a Power BI report from a colleague and thought "why does this look nothing like mine"... you're not alone. Without a shared system, every report ends up being its own little design experiment.

Tomorrow's live session with Jeroen and Lonneke is about fixing that, with the least amount of effort possible.

The live is on Thursday March 26th, at 4pm (Paris time) on LinkedIn. Plan for about 45 minutes and there'll be time for questions at the end. If you can't make it live, the replay will be available on the same page shortly after (and on Youtube).

We'll walk through how dataviz tokens work inside Power BI templates, why a simple .xlsx file stored on SharePoint or OneDrive is all you need to get started, and how this whole approach is built for people who know they should be using a template but haven't found a reason to start yet.

Particularly useful if you're juggling multiple brands, or if the .json theme file has been sitting in your to-do list for three months.

No complicated setup. Just a more consistent way to build reports.

PS: in case you missed it, I shared a teaser yesterday.

See you tomorrow 🔴

One design habit that seems harmless in Power BI, but becomes surprisingly difficult to manage once a report grows, is using transparency as part of the actual color system, especially for backgrounds. A common example is choosing a neutral grey for a visual background and then adjusting it with a transparency...
Don’t open Power BI yet!
READ TIME - 7 minutes ⏳ Email formatting looks broken? click here to view in browser.   The fastest way to build the wrong dashboard is to open the dashboard tool too early. It feels harmless at first: a blank canvas, a few charts, maybe a filter panel on the side. Progress, apparently. But this is how useful reporting quietly turns into a report with shiny instruments and no agreed destination...
What auditing 110+ report pages with 30 users taught me
READ TIME - 8 minutes ⏳ Email formatting looks broken? view in browser   I was asked to run a one-hour workshop with a simple-sounding goal: "reduce our dashboard portfolio". The audience was anything but simple. Around thirty people joined from more than six countries, with different roles, different needs, and very different definitions of what “a good report” even is. I had less than a wee...
