If you've ever opened a Power BI report from a colleague and thought "why does this look nothing like mine"... you're not alone. Without a shared system, every report ends up being its own little design experiment.

Tomorrow's live session with Jeroen and Lonneke is about fixing that, with the least amount of effort possible.

The live is on Thursday March 26th, at 4pm (Paris time) on LinkedIn. Plan for about 45 minutes and there'll be time for questions at the end. If you can't make it live, the replay will be available on the same page shortly after (and on Youtube).

We'll walk through how dataviz tokens work inside Power BI templates, why a simple .xlsx file stored on SharePoint or OneDrive is all you need to get started, and how this whole approach is built for people who know they should be using a template but haven't found a reason to start yet.

Particularly useful if you're juggling multiple brands, or if the .json theme file has been sitting in your to-do list for three months.

No complicated setup. Just a more consistent way to build reports.

PS: in case you missed it, I shared a teaser yesterday.

See you tomorrow 🔴

Culture: the missing layer in every Power BI deployment
READ TIME - 6 minutes ⏳ Email formatting looks broken? click here to view in browser.   Ten months ago, I published a post that felt like a small risk where I introduced the concept of a Power BI design system. My own, built over years of client work and promised to share it gradually, in pieces, in public. That post was also a promise to myself: to show up more, to make the thinking visible, t...
From overview to detail: an introduction to Drillthrough in Power BI
READ TIME - 6 minutes ⏳ Email formatting looks broken? click here to view in browser.   There's a pattern that plays out in almost every organisation that uses Power BI seriously. Someone opens a dashboard, they see a number that doesn't sit right, and then they spend the next twenty minutes doing work the report should have done for them: re-applying filters, opening new tabs, losing their dat...
Stop designing Power BI reports for imaginary users
READ TIME - 7 minutes ⏳ Email formatting looks broken? click here to view in browser.   Every Power BI project contains a moment where a report builder makes a judgment call (usually quietly and often quickly!) about what kind of thing they are actually building. Is this a dashboard or an exploratory tool? Should this be optimised for a monitor or a phone? Does the user need to drill into deta...
